They noticed something unusual lurking in their closet — only to discover a venomous snake inside
The surprise intruder sent an Australian family scrambling — and the snake catcher’s rescue video has gone viral.
An Australian family got quite the shock after discovering a snake curled up inside their child’s closet while getting clothes ready for the day. The unwelcome guest prompted a frantic call to Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, who later shared the encounter on Facebook, complete with a short video that’s quickly gained attention.
In the footage, snake catcher Stuart McKenzie is seen calmly removing the reptile from the home in Queensland, Australia. “This beautiful little snake snuck its way into the house and found a cozy little corner to snooze in, until Stu came along!” reads the accompanying post.
The right way to dispose of a snake
While the sight of a snake indoors would send most people into panic mode, McKenzie doesn’t flinch. He confidently grabs the snake by the tail and lifts it into a long bag to safely remove it from the house.
Before releasing the reptile—described as having a “beautiful red belly” and a “cute little brown nose”—back into the wild, McKenzie gives it a quick checkup to make sure it’s “happy and healthy,” which appeared to be the case.
All’s well that ends well. But this family will likely have flashbacks for quite some time every time they reach for a shirt or a pair of shoes.
