México Update:

The longest walking route in the world leads to an impressive path that crosses two continents and stretches to over 14,000 kilometers. This adventurous journey traverses arid landscapes, temperate climates, and the route is surrounded by multiple ecosystems. Those who undertake this challenge encounter complex meteorological and geological conditions that challenge any human who dares to undertake the journey.

The longest walk on Earth begins in Cape Town, South Africa, and ends in Magadan, located on the east coast of Russia. The few people who have completed this journey claim that it covers over 14,000 miles, and that it is not necessary to use ships or boats to cross the rivers and lakes between the two continents, as technology is so advanced that there are well-structured roads and solid bridges for this journey.

A rather curious fact about this route is that it not only crosses two continents, but passes through 16 countries, and as you delve into the longest journey in the world, you will face six time zones, for this reason, the weather conditions and their seasons will be an extreme adventure to overcome. Traversing the route on foot can take up to three years, so physical and mental work will be essential.

An expert in analyzing the time it would take to walk the world’s longest path stated that a person in good physical and mental condition could cross the two continents in 198 days, simply by walking quickly and without stopping, a feat that would be nearly impossible to accomplish. He also noted that someone willing to walk eight consecutive hours a day could complete the journey in 595 days.

The challenges of walking the longest path in the world through 16 countries

The starting point of the world’s longest walking route begins in Cape Town, South Africa, traversing the countries of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Belarus, Romania, and ending on the east coast of Russia.

This enormous challenge could be compared to climbing Mount Everest 13 times, or traveling across Spain 12 times, starting from the most remote points, taking into account river and lake crossings, species encountered along the way, time zones, weather conditions, and the customs of each country. But that’s not all; you must also plan for everything you would carry in your backpack, including utensils, rain gear, desert and mountain clothing, food, water, medicine, and more.

The health issue is also relevant because it not only requires good physical and mental fitness, but also takes into account that Zimbabwe has a region called the Black Mamba, home to one of the deadliest snakes in the world. Even traveling through Uganda would be a challenge, as this country has the highest number of malaria cases. Some countries along the route of the longest footpath in the world experience war-like conditions, while others suffer high temperatures of up to 46°C, such as the Sahara. The aforementioned conditions could complicate the challenge.
