At a time that was meant for celebration, two people have reportedly been shot during the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl parade.


During the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl parade and celebration on Friday, two women were unfortunately shot in Philadelphia’s Spring Garden neighborhood.
Local police say the shooting occurred around 2:35 p.m. in the 2300 block of the Ben Franklin Parkway. It’s currently unclear what led to the shooting, which occurred along the parade route about an hour after it had passed through. Huge crowds are gathered in the area to celebrate the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Last year, there was a shooting during the Chiefs' Super Bowl parade as well, which left 33 people wounded.

One of the victims shot in Philadelphia is a 27-year-old woman who was shot in her left leg. The other is a 20-year-old woman who was shot in the upper left thigh. Both were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
So far, police say that no weapon has been recovered and no arrests have been made, but they are looking for a suspect reportedly wearing an Eagles jersey. The Philadelphia police have asked anyone with any information to contact them at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
