U.S. accelerates its new fighter to challenge China’s air power and sets a date for its arrival: “The world’s best example”
With an expected operational date between 2027 and 2029, General David Allvin has announced that more than 185 units of the new “invisible” F-47 fighter jet will be produced.

The future of U.S. military aviation lies in the F-47, a sixth-generation “stealth” combat aircraft capable of a range of 1,825 kilometers and a top speed exceeding Mach 2 (2,470 km/h), according to El Confidencial.
The aircraft was officially confirmed by U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff General David Allvin, who shared some of its key specifications through his X (formerly Twitter) account.
With production scheduled to begin in the coming years, over 185 units of the F-47 will be built with the aim of enhancing U.S. air dominance and challenging China’s aerial supremacy.
“Our Air Force will continue to be the world’s best example of speed, agility, and lethality,” Allvin stated.
According to official infographics, the F-47 will be a sixth-generation fighter classified as “Stealth++”, meaning it will be equipped with advanced features that allow it to carry out covert operations and surveillance missions. In this regard, it appears to significantly outperform the F-22, which is classified as “Stealth+.”

“Modernization means having a set of capabilities that pose unique challenges to our adversaries, aligning our strengths with emerging threats — while staying on the right side of the cost curve,” Allvin emphasized.
Alongside the new F-47, Allvin also unveiled the upcoming series of unmanned fighter aircraft, the YFQ-42A and YFQ-44A. With over 1,000 units planned for production, each aircraft will have a range of 1,300 kilometers and will be deployed for support and reconnaissance missions.
China’s technological development
China has significantly ramped up its military production in recent years, particularly in the aerospace sector. Its two new fighter jets — the J-36 and J-50 — feature specifications closely resembling their American counterparts, and have proven to be highly effective in combat scenarios.
This was demonstrated during the recent aerial conflict between India and Pakistan. According to El Confidencial, Chinese-made J-10C Vigorous Dragon fighters, operated by Pakistani forces, reportedly shot down up to three French Rafale jets, as well as a MiG-29 and a Su-30.
Samuel Paparo, commander of the U.S. Navy’s Indo-Pacific Command, has already issued warnings about China’s rapid advancements and its growing air superiority, raising serious concerns about the future stability of the Asia-Pacific island chains.
