Banks across the United States are due to close their branches in June, as the country celebrates one of its 11 federal holidays.

U.S. bank branches to close in mid-June: doors shut on this date
Throughout the U.S., bank branches are set to temporarily close their doors in the middle of June, as the country observes a federal holiday.
Why are U.S. bank branches closing in June?
Financial institutions in the U.S. are to shutter their physical locations on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth Day, also known as Emancipation Day, which commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.
The list of banks closing on June 19 includes: Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Chase, Citibank, U.S. Bank, SunTrust Bank, Capital One, Citizens Bank, Santander Bank, BBVA, Compass, and many others.
When will banks reopen in the U.S.?
When banks close for a federal holiday, they normally resume operations the following business day. However, because Juneteenth is on a Friday and financial institutions are typically closed on weekends, bank branches can be expected to reopen on Monday, June 22.
While most large and small banks will be closed for Juneteenth Day, online banking and ATM transactions will remain available.
Customers will still be able to complete most everyday banking tasks. That said, it’s important to keep in mind that when payments are scheduled on a federal holiday, processing may not begin until the next business day.
