Update:

As incumbent president Joe Biden stepped aside when polling numbers were drifting further and further from opponent Donald Trump, his vice president, Kamala Harris was handed the chance to lead the ticket.

Despite an enthusiastic, positive and celebrity-packed campaign, Harris had just over 100 days to convince enough people that she was the ready for the top job. As it turned out, she failed to do that, and in rather disappointing fashion.

Harris readied for concession speech?

Both campaigns had venues prepared for celebrations on Tuesday night. Trump’s was exuberantly utilised. That of Harris less so, supporters drip-feeding out as the result became clearer, and an announcement came that she would not be joining them.

So to Wednesday, and news arrived that Harris is planning to address her fans and campaign workers around 4 p.m. Eastern Time at Howard University following a call Trump to concede. How much she discusses the perceived reasons for the defeat is less known.
