As the 2024 US Election approaches, Chicagoans are gearing up to make their voices heard. If you’re looking for information about polling places in Chicago, here’s everything you need to know about when they open and close, as well as how to find your voting location.

Polling hours in Chicago

On Election Day, polling places in Chicago open at 6:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM. This schedule allows voters plenty of time to cast their ballots, whether they choose to vote early in the morning or later in the evening.

Where to vote in Chicago

To find your designated polling place, visit the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners website. By entering your address, you can access details about your specific voting location, including any updates that may occur before the election.

For Election Day on November 5, 2024, voters have the following options:

  • At their designated polling place from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Click here to find your assigned polling location. You can only vote at your assigned polling place. If you attempt to vote at a different location within your district, you will be required to vote with a provisional ballot.
  • At one of the 51 open voting centers from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The locations in 50 districts and the central Supersite (191 N. Clark) will be available as voting centers on Election Day. Any voter can vote at any voting center on Election Day, regardless of where they live in the city.
