Vera, just 24 years old, builds a multi-million business after investing only $4,500
The revenue of her company, Veloide Lifestyle Oy, which has only four employees, has reached $1.35 million.
An investment of about $4,500 changed the life of Vera, a 24-year-old entrepreneur from Helsinki, Finland, who decided to take a chance on launching a small cosmetics company. The flagship product of her business is a scalp care oil.
The product, specifically designed to hydrate and nourish the scalp, was launched in 2023 after Vera developed the oil formula herself. The idea for Veloide first took shape in 2022 during a visit to her father in Spain. Today, the brand generates approximately $1.35 million in revenue through sales of that signature product.
Viral success on social media helped brand grow
Vera funded the business with part of her personal savings and managed to grow the company without outside investment. In an interview with the Finnish outlet Helsingin Uutiset, she admitted that she would have felt far more pressure if she had invested all of her savings from the beginning.
“I would have quit my job and neglected my everyday life,” she said.
From working with chemists to develop the formula to designing the packaging, Vera handled every aspect of the business while studying and working part time. Despite production and logistical challenges, the hair oil became a viral success on social media, especially on TikTok, where the algorithm and user reviews helped the brand grow organically.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year award
The Helsinki Entrepreneurs Association honored Vera with the 2026 Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in Helsinki, Finland. She received the award on May 19.
Thanks to the visibility the company has gained, Veloide Lifestyle Oy has built what Vera described as an “extensive distribution network.” The young entrepreneur also offered a candid reflection during her interview with the Finnish media outlet:
“Revenue says nothing about my personal finances.”
