Walmart branches closing in San Diego: dates and where they are located

Walmart will close its stores located on Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon and the store on Imperial Avenue in San Diego’s Sherman Heights neighborhood on February 9.

According to a report from NBC San Diego, the company stated that the stores have not performed as expected. However, Walmart’s overall business remains strong. Employees at these locations will be offered the chance to work at other Walmart stores nearby. Walmart spokesperson Brian K. Little expressed gratitude to the customers who have allowed the company to serve them in San Diego and El Cajon stores and encouraged them to continue using their services at other locations, on walmart.com, or through delivery to their homes or businesses.

Walmart, the world's largest retailer

According to the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) annual list of the top 50 global retailers, Walmart is currently the world’s largest retailer as of March 2023. The company’s revenues of $585.2 billion helped it maintain its first-place position. Its success is attributed to its new online marketplace and delivery model, strong growth in fewer markets, and compliance.
