Walmart to open 6 new stores this summer: Check if one is near you
Walmart will be welcoming shoppers at five new stores and a new Sam’s Club before Labor Day this year as part of its aggressive expansion campaign.

Walmart announced last year that it was planning to remodel over 650 stores in 47 states as well as build or convert 150 stores by the end of 2028. As part of that project, the retail giant recently opened its first new Superstore built from the ground up in four years in Cypress, Texas.
But that’s not the only new Walmart location coming this year. The big box retailer told USA TODAY that there will be 10 new locations before the end of the year. We now know where five of those will be plus a new Sam’s Club.
Walmart to open 6 new stores this summer
Before the summer is out, Walmart will be opening the doors to shoppers at five new stores in four states. Three of those will be Neighborhood Markets and two will be Superstores. Here’s where to find them and when they will open:
Mid-June: 8600 Hwy 69, Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Walmart Neighborhood Market
July: 600 Showers Dr., Mountain View, California – Walmart Supercenter Conversion
August: 9399 North Spring Run Parkway, Eagle Mountain, Utah – Walmart Supercenter
August: 6275 US-90, Milton, Florida – Walmart Neighborhood Market
September: 4239 Berryhill Road, Pace, Florida – Walmart Neighborhood Market
Also coming in August is a new Sam’s Club location in Tempe, Arizona. The Arkansas-based company announced in April that it “as part of its long-term roadmap” that it will not only stick with the plan to open 30 new Sam’s Clubs but also set up a pipeline to open 15 new locations per year “over the planning horizon.”
At the same time, it is remodeling all of its 600 existing locations. If you want to get an idea of what the new “standard for the club of the future” looks like, you can visit the newly opened location in Grapevine, Texas.
