What are the ingredients of McDonald’s new ‘Big Arch’ burger?

CEO Chris Kempczinski said the sandwich will feature two patties, melted cheese, crispy toppings, and a “tangy McDonald’s sauce,” according to Restaurant Business.

Portugal and Canada are two of the markets where the Big Arch is available. The McDonald’s Portugal website gives more details regarding what the item is made of: aside from the two patties, there are three slices of white cheddar, pickles, fresh lettuce, fresh and fried onions, topped with a new “divine” sauce. The site goes on to describe the burger as “a true epic Mac.”

In Canada, the McDonald’s website states that the new sandwich is the restaurant’s “response to guests’ desire for a satiating burger with more of the great-tasting, quality ingredients fans of McDonald’s love.”

Kempczinski says they will see how the rollout develops before deciding on whether to launch it in other countries, including the United States.

McDonald’s takes a hit

The fast food giant missed sales expectations in the first quarter of 2024, while its global sales for the second quarter registered a drop for the first time in more than three years. In a bid to win back customers, they offered a $5 meal deal this summer, to rousing success. The company says they are working to extend the offer beyond August.
