What did Khloé Kardashian say about Tristan Thompson visiting their newborn son in the hospital?

The premiere episode of Season 2 of The Kardashians on Hulu dropped Thursday 22 September which gave insight into the birth of Khloé Kardashian’s second child with Tristan Thompson. Despite their separation and the drama that caused it, she still wants the NBA star to form part of the lives of their two kids so that they don’t have “daddy issues” down the road.

Part of that was having Thompson at the hospital for the delivery of their second child, a baby boy born via surrogate. During the premiere in a confessional the Good American founder said “I’ve been on the fence about having Tristan come to the hospital or not. But Tristan wants to be here, so I just figured why not? Let him come. I’ll never get this moment back.”

Khloé's decision to let Tristan come to the hospital despite the ongoing drama may have been due to a nudge from her older sister. In the episode Kim talked with her youngest sister about whether Tristan should join her in the delivery room.

“My advice would be for the sake of the baby, I think if it’s an option, you did it once, mad at Tristan. You can do it again and have him there, you know? You’ll have that story for your child,” Kim told Khloé.

Khloé learned about Tristan’s indiscretions after baby was conceived

The announcement in July that the former couple were expecting a second child came as a bit of a surprise to fans, not least because Khloé and Tristan broke up in January. That happened after it came to light that the NBA star had fathered another child with Maralee Nichols.

The baby boy, whose name has not been revealed yet, was conceived in November prior to knowledge of the tryst and the resulting pregnancy of the fitness model with Tristan’s then third child. Khloé and Tristan have a four-year-old daughter True Thompson.

The former couple did an embryo transfer like days before Thanksgiving, and Khloé didn’t learn about Tristan’s situation until the first week of December. “It’s just so close. I wouldn’t want anyone to think I did this after the fact,” she recalled. “Why would I want to have a baby with someone who is having a baby with somebody else?”

The state of relationship between Khloé and Tristan

Despite the heartbreak and drama that for now appears to have put an end to the on and off again six-year relationship, Khloé still wants the father of her children to be part of their lives.

As Khloe explained to her friend, Malika Haqq, ‘daddy issues’ is something she wants her kids to do without. “I’ve always wanted two parents in the household helping raise the kids. Sometimes we still just want the white house and the picket fence.”
