Update:

As the final night at the Democratic National Convention came to a close, there had been some big hitters taking to the stage before it all culminated in Kamala Harris accepting her party’s nomination for the presidential candidate. One of those speakers was Eva Longoria, the popular actress from Texas.

“I’ve known Kamala Harris for more than a decade, and she comes from a family a lot like mine,” the 49-year old began. “We were both raised knowing that no one was going to hand us anything, especially as women.”

She continued with an uplifting and supportive message but it was her Latino-focused quip that grabbed most attention.

‘Kamala Harris can!’ says Longoria

A phrase that has become popular in Spanish-speaking nations or communities is that of “Si, se puede,” simply translated as, “Yes, we can!” Longoria gave it a new twist, however, saying “She, se puede” linked directly at Harris.
