Lactaid Milk has been recalled in 27 states for potential trace amounts of almonds that aren’t listed on the label. Here’s the product affected and where.
Routine maintenance programs resulted in the potential for trace amounts of almonds in Lactaid Milk being discovered which isn’t listed on the product label. “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” warns HP Hood LLC in their voluntary recall of Lactaid Milk posted by the FDA.
The affected product was shipped to 27 states between September 5 and 18. So far no illnesses have been reported.

The states that are affected by the recall include Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, north Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The recall applies to five varieties of 96-ounce plastic containers of refrigerated Lactaid Milk including Whole, 2%, 1% Fat Free and 2% Calcium Enriched Milk. All have the code 51-4109 PS with varying Best By Dates for each type which can be found on the Food and Drug Administration recall alert.
Consumers who purchased any of the products affected by the recall can return it to the retailer where they bought it and get a full refund or exchange it. They can also call the toll-free Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423, Monday through Friday from 9 am ET to 5:00 pm ET.
