The 2024 Democratic National Convention is set to take place in Chicago, Illinois, from August 19 to 22. This year, the convention will be important as Vice President Kamala Harris will be formally nominated for president, making her the first Black woman and the first person of color to be nominated by a major party.

The convention will also feature speeches from other influential Democratic leaders. President Joe Biden is expected to make an appearance and will speak on Monday night.

“He’s looking forward to, as he tends to do, speak directly to the American people,” his team said.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have also been given speaking roles, as well as former presidential candidate Hilary Clinton. Bill Clinton will introduce Harris’ running mate Tim Walz on Wednesday.

One of the most anticipated moments of the convention will be the keynote address. Kamala Harris, will deliver the prominent speech on Thursday, aiming to use it as a great launchpoint for her campaign as November fast approaches.

Other names to speak are:

Doug Emhoff, the husband of Kamala Harris

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker
