Why does Kanye West call Pete Davidson ‘Skete’?

The recent instagram post from West continued his crusade against Davidson, before it was swiftly taken down.

Kanye West is no stranger to controversy and his recent stunt thrust him firmly back into the spotlight. Posting on Instagram, not a common occurrence, Kanye posted an image of a photoshopped newspaper declaring “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28.” Since deleted, screenshots were posted on social media.

Kanye, Kardashian and Davidson

It marked the continuation of Kanye’s borderline obsession with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian (we recently reflected on her relationships). She filed for divorce in February 2021. Obviously, the instagram post is aimed at her next boyfriend Pete Davidson, of Saturday Night Live fame.

However, Kanye’s personal vendetta on Davidson could be at an end. The post coincides with the recent reported break-up of Kardashian and Davidson after nine months of dating. In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim said she dated Davidson after hearing about his “BDE” (i.e. Big D*** Energy), saying she wanted to “get out there.” She added that she was, “ basically DTF” (i.e. down to f***).

What is next for the strange triangle is anyone’s guess.

What does Skete mean?

Skete is Kanye’s nickname for Pete as the two words rhyme. According to Urban Dictionary, ‘Skete’ means, “A pale, skinny white dude who’s banging your ex”, although this description was only added once Kanye had made a point of the nickname so is unlikely to be an intended meaning.

A much older meaning of the word on Urban Dictionary is “to ejacualte.” This seems a much more plausible meaning.
