Horizon Forbidden West is gold: first look on PS4 Pro

Aloy prepares her weapons to plunge into a post-apocalyptic world of machines and mystery. Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to the Guerrilla videogame that continues the story of the savior. A few weeks before its release, the studio has reported that the game is already gold (it's finished), so they wanted to share a first look at the PS4 Pro version. Almost all the footage shown so far belonged to PS5, although they had also shown how it looked on the base console of the previous generation.

Angie Smets, producer of the game, has shared these first clips on the official PlayStation blog. She also took the opportunity to announce that the title has gone Gold. “This means we are all set to start printing and distributing the game, ready for you to experience Aloy’s journey into the Forbidden West,” she said.

“I want to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone on the team for what we have achieved together and the community for their continued support and excitement as we’re preparing for launch.” According to Smets, “Whether you will be playing on your PS4 or PS5 console, our team has made sure you get to enjoy the best experience on each platform.”

How long is the main campaign?

As open worlds become increasingly vast, one wonders how long it will take to complete the game's campaign. Mathijs de Jonge, director of the title, has confirmed that the duration will be similar to that of Horizon Zero Dawn. If we take How Long to Beat's figures, it would be just over 20 hours. However, the developer has clarified that completing the adventure at 100% will take longer than in the prequel, although he did not offer any tentative number.

Horizon Forbidden West will be released on February 18 on PS4 and PS5.
