Update:
Elden Ring has been leaked including its opening cinematic

Hidetaka Miyazaki fans, be warned. Elden Ring has been leaked a week before its release.

Screenshots and footage of From Software’s upcoming game are already making the rounds on the internet, with spoilers appearing for those unwary, or fans who can't wait any longer for the game's release.

The game's opening cinematic has been released unofficially. Meanwhile, several gameplay videos were posted on YouTube, but according to Eurogamer, these have already been removed by Bandai Namco. Along with this, several of the images have been posted on Reddit, showing a new area that had not been officially shown by From Software.

This isn't the first leak that fans have had to dodge. A few weeks ago, fans wanting to reach out without any knowledge of the game had to dodge details about Elden Ring's detailed character creator.

A short wait for Elden Ring

After a slight delay, From Software announced at the end of January that the game had gone Gold and that they were outlining the launch patch to polish the last details before its release.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Elden Ring, recently assured that the title is the culmination of all the work they have done on the Dark Souls trilogy. "Elden Ring is based on a culmination of everything we've done with the Dark Souls series and with our games thus far. That's the best way to look at it," Miyazaki explains.

At the same time, Miyazaki talked about the difficulty of the title, considering that more people will finish it. “In Elden Ring, we have not intentionally tried to lower the game’s difficulty, but I think more players will finish it this time,” mentioned the director. Miyazaki believes that a number of circumstances are key to achieving this: “the player’s level of freedom to progress through the world or return to a challenge later are all elements that I feel will help people get through the game at a more leisurely pace. Also, there isn’t a focus on pure action. The player has more agency to dictate their approach against, for example, the field bosses in the overworld and how they utilize stealth in various situations.”

Elden Ring will officially arrive on February 25 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
