Grand Theft Auto 5 will arrive on the new generation of consoles this March 15. PS5 and Xbox X Series X|S will receive a dedicated port to take advantage of their hardware capabilities. Rockstar has been keeping a wary eye on what it looks like... until it has arrived at the homes of the first users.
Popular content creator Cycu1 posts on his YouTube channel some of the first gameplays of GTA 5 on PS5. We see the opening segment of the game running while running in Fidelity Mode, which ups the resolution to native 4K and activates ray tracing. You can watch it below this paragraph.
What visual modes does GTA 5 have on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?
Rockstar announced the presence of 3 graphics modes exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions of GTA 5. The first of these is Fidelity Mode, which uses the previously mentioned details at a locked frame rate of 30 frames per second. If you prefer to prioritize the framerate, Performance Mode uses a 4K rescaling solution to run at 60 fps. Finally, Performance RT Mode is set as a hybrid between the two. You will be able to play at 60 frames per second while ray tracing is enabled.
Xbox Series S users will see some modifications. In Fidelity Mode the resolution will be rescaled, while in Performance Mode the resolution will be rescaled to 1080p. In addition to all this we can expect improvements in specific graphical settings. We will see a higher density of vegetation, more characters and vehicles on screen, water reflections, better lighting and much more. In the case of the PS5 version, it will make use of DualSense capabilities, both haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
