Resident Evil live-action series confirms its release date on Netflix

Netflix confirms the premiere date for Resident Evil. The live-action series based on the popular video game franchise will arrive on July 14. Along with the date, the three official posters have been shared. You can see them at the bottom of this paragraph.

Netflix's Resident Evil: everything we know

"Almost three decades after the discovery of the T virus, the outbreak reveals the dark secrets of Umbrella Corporation," the production company reveals in a press release. "In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are transported to New Raccoon City, a manufactured, corporate city thrust upon them just as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they realize that the city is more than it seems, and that their father may be hiding dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world."

The series will address the history of the saga from the point of view of Wesker and his daughters through two timelines, the present and the future. For the second one we also knew its synopsis: “There are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters – people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past - about her sister, her father, and herself - continue to haunt her.”

We know that this first season will feature eight one-hour episodes. Andrew Dabb is the showrunner of the series, who worked as executive producer for several seasons of Supernatural. This is his first job in that role.

If you want to quench your thirst for Resident Evil, you currently have several opportunities. On the one hand, the animated series Infinite Darkness, is available on Netflix; on the other, the film reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
