This minor update is now available and serves mainly to receive reminders for pending Platinum points redemption. Here are all the details.

Nintendo Switch updates to version 14.1.0: patch notes and new features

Nintendo has released Nintendo Switch update 14.1.0. All players of the console in any of its three models -standard, OLED and Lite- can now download this new version of the console's firmware, which brings small changes related to the management of notifications. We remind you that this type of update, however small it may be, are necessary to continue making use of the online functionalities of some video games.

Version 14.1.0 of Nintendo Switch: what's new?

Nintendo Switch version 14.1.0 comes to complement the last major firmware update of the current family of consoles of the big N, the 14.0.0. In this case, Nintendo wants to provide a notification system from the settings menu of the console so that we know when we have My Nintendo Platinum Points without redeeming; since these points have a limited time span (valid until the last day of the sixth month from the date we got them. For example, if we earned points on January 6, 2022, these points will expire on July 31, 2022).

Platinum Point Notification Settings" has been added to the notifications in the Console Settings.

As a reminder, regular Platinum Points are earned by completing missions in the My Nintendo service or with mobile apps. They can be redeemed for rewards, such as customized icons for our profile. Meanwhile, Gold Points are those related to purchases of digital games, downloadable content or registering games in physical format. These Gold Points can later be used to apply discounts on purchases from the eShop.
