Nuverse and Second Dinner have announced the development of Marvel Snap for PC, iOS and Android mobile devices. The free-to-play game (free but with microtransactions) draws on a multiverse of superheroes to offer card-based gameplay that promises fast-paced battles. Players will be able to assemble their team of heroes and villains, collect cards and experiment in games lasting three minutes, always action-packed. You can enjoy the first official trailer below:
Developed by Second Dinner, a studio founded by veterans of the trading card genre, it has been designed under the supervision of Marvel Entertainment. According to the press release, there will be more than 150 characters from Marvel, a publishing house with 80 years of history and thousands of stories published in comics, and now also in movies, TV series, etc.
Innovative mechanics
There will be PVP CCG matchups, as well as a new mechanic that will allow users to reach the highest ranks and double and increase their stakes. "The mind games and bluffing inherent in this innovative mechanic create a game that is truly impossible to master."
Tom van Dam of Nuverse explained that they are committed to building "a global community of connected gamers, bringing them fun experiences and inspiring gaming they won’t find anywhere else." In addition to the 150 launch cards, the game will add 50 locations, so users will not repeat scenarios.
"Seeing how our teams have been working together utilizing our beloved Marvel characters and their stories, we know second dinner and Nuverse have all the ingredients to deliver a landmark video game." These words come from Jay Ong, executive vice president of Marvel Entertainment.
Those interested can register on the official website from today and sign up for the closed beta, available exclusively for Android devices. It will be translated into 13 languages on both PC and mobile when it launches, although the specific languages have not been detailed.
