Update:
Street Fighter 6 strolls into the ring with its first gameplay trailer

Street Fighter 6 could not miss its appointment at the State of Play. It was already announced, but we had not yet been able to see it in motion. And this time, Capcom has not only shared its first gameplay trailer, but also confirmed that the game will come to PS4, as well as PS5. In the video, you can see Ryu, Chun-Li and Luke wearing a refreshed look compared to the last installment. On the other hand, Jamie will be the new fighter to step into the ring. The release date points to 2023.

Among the new features presented is the Battle Hub, a social function that will offer "unique ways to connect and communicate" with the rest of the community. Capcom promises that it will go into more detail about how it will work in the near future. In addition, this time, the saga leaves behind Unreal Engine to bet everything on the RE Engine, the graphics engine of Resident Evil 8 Village, Devil May Cry 5 and Monster Hunter Rise. The Japanese company indicates that the change of engine will allow to offer "improved graphics in every aspect of the game".

The return of the fighting king

Street Fighter landed in Japanese arcades in 1987. Since then, several generations of players have learned the saga's playable language and have grown up with the series. With high points like 1991 (second installment of the franchise) or the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation, with a Street Fighter IV ready to serve as the dominant of the genre, the license has a new opportunity ahead to fight to become the benchmark of the competitive scene from next year.

Back to Street Fighter 6, it will be released sometime in 2023 on PS5 and PS4. No specific window has been detailed.
