PlayStation presents along with Backbone its new licensed controller for iPhone

Backbone and PlayStation team up to launch a special edition of its controller for mobile devices. The Backbone One PlayStation Edition appears as the first control peripheral for iOS officially licensed by the Japanese company. Its visual style follows the design seen with the DualSense. It is now available through the Backbone store at a recommended retail price of $99.99.

This is the first controller for iOS mobiles with an official PlayStation license

"The look and feel of the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition was brought to life by our design team in collaboration with the brilliant minds at PlayStation," reveals Maneet Khaira, CEO of Backbone. "The elegant colors, materials, and finishes are all inspired by the design of the PS5 console’s DualSense wireless controller, all the way down to the transparent face buttons and its visually distinctive, floating appearance. It feels right at home with the other products in the PS5 lineup, like the Pulse 3D headset, which you can connect directly to the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition."

The company stresses that the controller is compatible with both the PS Remote Play app (streaming from your console to your mobile) and the other games and cloud services available on the App Store. In fact, you do not need to charge the controller. Once you connect it, it will be powered by your iPhone's battery.

Among the general specifications, they point out that it incorporates a 3.5mm headphone jack for headphones with or without a microphone, so it makes sense that you can plug in your Pulse 3D without the USB dongle. If you have the iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max model you'll find an adapter inside the box so you can use it on those. It also features a lightning port on the bottom of the right handle so you can charge your phone while gaming.
