Fortnite: here's how the new store purchase and cancellations system works
Epic Games enables a new method of buying and refunding cosmetic items for the Fortnite store. Here we tell you how it works and what it consists of.
Following the arrival of patch 21.51 on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, Epic Games has decided to implement a new cosmetic item return system for the Fortnite store. Just below we tell you what it consists of and how it works:
Fortnite: here's what the new store item purchase cancellation system looks like
The main new feature added with the new Fortnite store item purchase cancellation system is that now when purchasing a cosmetic item from the store, we will have to hold down the corresponding button or key instead of being able to purchase it with a single tap. This has been implemented to avoid purchases by mistake.
But it doesn't end there: the purchase cancellation period has also been extended. Now, we can cancel cosmetic purchases made in-game with V-Bucks until we equip the item in question in-game or within 24 hours. During this purchase cancellation period, we will also be shown a warning reminding us that we will not be able to cancel the purchase of a cosmetic if we use it.
Other changes regarding the Fortnite store shopping system include the option to save/recall the payment method, and the return policy has also been updated. Otherwise, the store will continue to function the same as it has until now. That is, we will be able to purchase some items with V-Bucks (Fortnite's virtual currency, $7.99 is 1,000 V-Bucks) or with real money directly, depending on the item or bundle in question.
