Why FIFA 23 on Nintendo Switch will not receive the World Cup update?

The other versions of FIFA 23 will bring the experience of the World Cup in Qatar with the different national teams, but the hybrid is left out.

Update:
Why FIFA 23 on Nintendo Switch will not receive the World Cup update?

All FIFA 23 players will be able to download the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 mode for free... all except those on Nintendo Switch, as the Japanese console will be left out and will not receive this update. The reason for this rant is none other than EA's decision to keep releasing Legacy Edition versions for the hybrid. In other words, only templates and players are updated, but no improvements or playable novelties are added.

FIFA 23 Legacy Edition is playable as a photograph, a copy of previous builds that only modifies aesthetic aspects and the database of players and clubs. Thus, those who want to enjoy the 2022 World Cup will have to choose any of the other platforms on which it is available.

When does the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar mode comes out?

The free 2022 World Cup Qatar update will be available for download starting November 9 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. On the other hand, EA Sports FIFA Mobile users will have the option to do so one day earlier, on November 8. This mode will include a total of 32 national teams, which will compete for the most important soccer trophy at international level.

Despite the lack of new features, FIFA 23 continues to sell well on Nintendo Switch. It includes neither career mode nor Volta mode, even though they are additions that were implemented in the saga years ago. Of course, neither does it incorporate Pro Clubs or playable or technical innovations such as HyperMotion.

"FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will feature the same Gameplay features and modes from FIFA 22 Legacy Edition without any new development or significant enhancements," they warn on the Nintendo eShop. Will anything change when FIFA is rebranded as EA Sports FC? Given the track record, there's not much hope.
