In it, we will have to face Team GO Rocket and its leader, Giovanni, in order to capture a Shadow Mewtwo. We will have to log in to Pokémon GO in this period for this Special Research to be added to our list; once active, it will be available until December 1, 2022, at 10:00 am local time. Also, as additional requirements, we will have to be Level 8 or higher, and not have any previous Team GO Rocket and Giovanni Special Research active.
During the Team GO Rocket Takeover event, we may have the chance to capture the following Shadow Pokémon after defeating members of Team GO Rocket:

The first phase of Field Notes: Team GO Rocket asks us to defeat a total of six Team GO Rocket grunts, capture four Shadow Pokémon, and purify two Shadow Pokémon. We will have to walk around to see Team GO Rocket grunts (quite numerous during the event) to defeat them, capture their Shadow Pokémon, and purify them.
Pokémon GO: Field Notes: Team GO Rocket (2/4)
The second part of Field Notes: Team GO Rocket consists of defeating the three Leaders: Arlo, Cliff and Sierra. To do this, we will need a total of three Rocket Radars.
Pokémon GO: Field Notes: Team GO Rocket (3/4)
The third part of Field Notes: Team GO Rocket consists of finding and defeating Giovanni. To do this, we will need a Super Rocket Radar, which is obtained by completing the missions of the previous phase. It uses a completely revamped team that includes Shadow Mewtwo, whom we can capture after defeating him.
Pokémon GO: Field Notes: Team GO Rocket (4/4)
The last part of Field Notes: Team GO Rocket is simply collecting the rewards.
