Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: every Lycanroc form - Midday, Midnight, and Dusk
Rockruff is very special, capable of transforming into 3 different Pokémon according to its training. We’ll tell you how to get them all.
The seventh Pokémon generation (Sun and Moon) left us with a much beloved creature for the fandom: Lycanroc. Not just because of their design or power, but because they’re able to adapt themselves to specific evolutions since their Rockruff days. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’re able to get all of them, so we’ll tell you what you need to do to get all of its forms: Midday, Midnight, and Dusk.
Where to capture a Rockruff in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
First things first, if you don’t have a Lycanroc (better to have a few) in your team, you won’t get its different evolutions. Luckily, Rockruffs are one of the most common species in Paldea. There’s plenty of them in different areas of the region. Here you’ll find a screenshot that marks the zones where you can find one. Besides, it tends to appear in lower levels and is easy to catch.
How to get every Lycanroc form in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Once you have enough Rockruffs, the first step you need to keep in mind is that they need to be level 25, given that their evolutions happen at level 26. The secret is that once it reaches that level, its transformation will be different according to the situation, so we’ll tell you all the details.
If you’re not sure of what time it is in-game, since weather effects can cause some confusion, open the map and you’ll see a circle with the corresponding time (Sun, Sunset, or Moon)in the upper part of the screen.
Your Rockruff’s ability is determined when you capture it, and is completely up to luck; sometimes it’ll have the right one and other times it won’t. So if you want to complete your Pokédex you’ll have to keep trying and capturing the right ones.
