On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the Mythic Blade event, centered on the Mythical Pokémon Keldeo, begins in Pokémon GO. In this Pokémon GO guide, we share with you all the details, including dates, times, and how to participate.

Mythic Blade event in Pokémon GO: dates, times, and how to participate

The Mythic Blade event begins on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. It is a free event for all players, although there is a paid entry for the Something Extraordinary Special Investigation, which is the one that allows us to catch Keldeo. The Mythic Blade event is part of Season 9: Mythical Wishes.

For $7.99 (or the equivalent in our local currency), we will be able to unlock the Something Extraordinary Special Investigation, which we can receive between Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Once received, we will be able to complete it at any time.

Among the Special Research rewards, we will be able to obtain the following:

  • Keldeo T-Shirt avatar item
  • 14 Rare Candies
  • 12 Silver Pinap Berries
  • 2 Incubators
  • 2 Super Incubators
  • 2 Incense
  • Various Fighting-type and Water-type Pokémon encounters

In addition, players who get the ticket for the Special Research story, Something Extraordinary, will have a higher chance of encountering the following Pokémon using Incense:

  • Machop (chance that it may be Shiny)
  • Hitmonlee (chance that it may be Shiny)
  • Hitmonchan (chance that it may be Shiny)
  • Hitmontop (chance that it may be Shiny)
  • Beldum (chance that it may be Shiny)
  • Tympole (chance that it may be Shiny)
  • Ferroseed (chance that it may be Shiny)

These are the Pokémon from Raids that are available during Mythic Blade in Pokémon GO:

  • 1-star Raids: Meditite (chance that it may be Shiny), Buizel (chance that it may be Shiny), Timburr (chance that it may be Shiny) and Tympole (chance that it may be Shiny).
  • 3-star Raids: Poliwrath, Aerodactyl (chance that it may be Shiny), Skarmory (chance that it may be Shiny) and Breloom.
  • 4-star Raids/Mega raids: Mega Aggron (chance that it may be Shiny).
  • 5-star Raids: Terrakion (chance that it may be Shiny) and Virizion (chance that it may be Shiny).

Featured attacks available for Pokémon available during Pokémon GO's Mythic Blade event

These are the featured attacks that certain Pokémon we capture during Mythic Blade in Pokémon GO will have:

  • Terrakion, Virizion and Keldeo will learn Sacred Sword, a Fighting Type attack of 60 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in Gyms and Raids.

Pokémon with Field Research task during Mythic Blade in Pokémon GO

During the Mythic Blade event, we will be able to encounter the following Pokémon by completing Field Research task:

  • Galarian Farfetch’d (chance that it may be Shiny).
  • Hitmonlee (chance that it may be Shiny).
  • Hitmonchan (chance that it may be Shiny).
  • Hitmontop (chance that it may be Shiny).

Mythic Blade Collection Challenge in Pokémon GO

A Collection Challenges will also be available during the Mythic Blade event, although no further details have been released by Niantic at this time. We will update this section of the guide as soon as more information becomes available.
