Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a release date on 2023

Steam just accidentally ruined one of The Game Awards 2022’s biggest surprises. The Valve store has revealed the launch date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, one of the titles that had already confirmed their appearance for Geoff Keighley’s gala. The game’s official page on the platform confirmed the rumors that Cal Kestis’ adventure would continue on March 15, 2023.

Alongside the date, the pre-order bonuses for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the contents of the Deluxe Edition were also revealed. In total we’re talking about three outfits for Kestis (one based on Han Solo and the thugs of the underworlds, another similar to Exiled Luke’s looks, and a third that goes un an unexpected but suave Lando style), two skins for BD-1 (clearly referencing R2-D2 and the Endor camouflage uniforms), a pair of lightsabers and a Blaster set.

The Steam page also says that the game takes place around 5 years after the events of Fallen Order. A now changed synopsis of the game said the following: “Chased to the edges of the universe, Cal Kestis finds himself surrounded by new and old threats alike. How far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew and the legacy of the Jedi Order? It’s in the darkest times of the galaxy where the most important messages are sent.”

This summary also mentioned that the protagonist is no longer a padawan, instead having become a full fledged Jedi Knight, which translates to a deeper and more developed combat system that includes new abilities and powers. In the same way, we are also reminded that “those that venture beyond the horizon will be rewarded”, seemingly pointing towards the exploration and freedom of choice that’s been there since the first title.

Now we only need to mark the date in our calendars, make some popcorn, and sit down on thursday to enjoy a new gameplay trailer during The Game Awards, where we’ll finally see the graphical improvements (because we’re guessing if its only coming to new-gen consoles it’s because of something like that).

May the force be with you, and help you be patient enough until the release date.
