Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 is already enjoying the contents of Season 1 Reloaded. The additions to the game on the first step of the roadmap include a variety of updates that impact almost every detail of the game. Amongst them is the arrival of a new weapon: the Chimera. We’ll tell you what you need to unlock it.
How to unlock the Chimera assault rifle
There’s a few ways to unlock the Chimera assault rifle in both games without the need to purchase it with real money. The easiest method is in Modern Warfare 2. To get it you only need to kill 2 operators with an assault rifle in 15 different matches. For the kills to count towards your progress you need to stay in the match until it ends, in other words until you see the end results screen. You can also try to complete this challenge in Warzone 2.0, but that would logically take a longer time.
There’s a second way to get it at no extra cost, and that is in DMZ. Infinity Ward pointed out that it can be extracted from Building 21, a new POI found outside of Al-Mazrah. However, at the time of writing this article it’s still not live in the game. Once it goes live (which surprisingly won’t be announced, and depends on the players figuring it out themselves), you can try to go in and get it, or try your hand at ambushing other squads that have the weapon.
Otherwise you can always go for the fast and easy way and pay for it. In the store you’ll find the Dark Skies Store Bundle for 1200 COD Points (approximately 10 USD), which will allow you to unlock a Weapon Blueprint alongside a few cosmetic items like a charm, a sticker, and a loading screen.
Remember that the Chimera is a new version of the fabled Honey Badger from Call of Duty Ghosts. This assault rifle comes with an amazing rate of fire coupled with an integrated silencer.
