The Witcher 3 next-gen gets a performance hotfix for PC, promises improvements in every platform soon
The CD Projekt RED title has been updated for free with new generation improvements, but it’s been having performance issues on PC.
Not everything surrounding the new generation patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is positive. As is usual, players have encountered certain unforeseen problems with the new update, which the studio had already acknowledged. As a response, they announced that they were already working on how to fix every bug and deal with the performance issues on PC.
“We’ve just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 on PC, which should improve the overall stability and performance, and fix GOG & Steam overlays. The game version won’t change. Our teams are working on further improving the experience on all platforms.”
Before releasing the hotfix, the developer also recommended updating NVIDIA graphics card drivers , since some of the issues could be alleviated through that simple method. On the other hand, they’ve also announced that the nex gen update is also available now on Origin.
Henry Cavill’s dog is in The Witcher 3
Henry Cavill may no longer be the man behind Geralt of Rivia or Superman, but CD Projekt RED decided to pay him an homage and confirmed what some users already suspected: the new generation version of the game includes an amazing cameo: none other than Henry Cavill…’s dog. They also included the armor the character wears in the Netflix series.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was updated for free in every new generation platform, meaning Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. This patch not only upgrades the graphics, but also adds some Quality of Life changes to the game, new animations, and small details that “wouldn’t even be part of a patch”. In any case, the developer also warned that aside from improvement patches, they don’t have any more content planned for the game.
CD Projekt RED is looking towards the future of The Witcher with a remake of the first title in the trilogy as well as the first entry in a new trilogy of games, both being developed with Unreal Engine 5.
