Niantic has shared the first details regarding the new Primal Reversion gameplay mechanic for Groudon and Kyogre in Pokémon GO. In this news we tell you everything you need to know about Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre:
Groudon and Kyogre's Primal Reversion in Pokémon GO: how to activate it and all the details
According to the information shared by Niantic on the official Pokémon GO website, the Primal Reversion of Groudon and Kyogre works precisely like the Mega Evolutions. Before we can activate this mode for each Pokémon, we must collect enough Primal Energy by completing research tasks, participating in events or defeating these Pokémon in Primal Raids.
As with the Mega evolutions, Groudon and Kyogre will remain a total of eight hours in a row in the Primal Reversion state each time we transform them. In addition, with each Primal Reversion performed, the total Primal Energy needed for a new Primal Reversion will be reduced and different bonuses will also apply. The same as with Mega Evolutions. Likewise, the Mega category of the PokéDex will be updated to include the Primal versions of Groudon and Kyogre.
Groudon's Primal Reversion Bonus
- With a Primal Groudon in our team, Fire, Grass, and Ground Type attacks do more damage in Raids.
- With a Primal Groudon as a Companion, we will get more PX when capturing Fire, Grass, and Ground Type Pokémon.
Kyogre's Primal Reversion Bonus
- With a Primal Kyogre in our team, Water, Bug, and Electric Type attacks do more damage in Raids.
- With a Primal Groudon as a Companion, we will get more PX when capturing Water, Bug, and Electric Type Pokémon.
How to Get Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre in Pokémon GO
The first time Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will be available in Pokémon GO will be at the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn, held in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 18-19, 2023.
This is a paid on-site event in which, among other things, Primal Raids will be held with Groudon and Kyogre as protagonists. Those who attend and defeat them, in addition to having the chance to get their hands on a Shiny, will also capture them with the Charged Attack Origin Pulse (Kyogre) and Precipice Blade (Groudon).
