Resident Evil 4 Remake shows off the cabin fight in new gameplay video

There are less than two months left for the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Capcom has decided to make us even more excited with a new gameplay video, which goes over the ten minute mark. This time they’re showing us Chapter 5 of the game, whereLeon has just rescued Ashley from the church, ending with Leon and Luis entrenched in a cabin with hordes of villagers pouring in. Without further delay, we leave you the video just below:

New Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 5 gameplay

Game Informer has the exclusive of this new Resident Evil 4 Remake gameplay uploaded to their YouTube channel. In the video, almost thirteen minutes long, we can see the hardships Leon and Ashley go through to escape the clutches of the Ganados, Spanish villagers infected by the Las Plagas parasite.

In the cabin shootout section, a new giant enemy with a cow's head and a huge hammer that wasn’t in the 2005 game is shown. It seems to be a new miniboss that will make things as difficult for us as Dr. Salvador, the iconic psychopath with a bag on his head and a chainsaw. We can also see how the renewed inventory system works, including the treasure combining to increase their prices at the merchant.

From what we’ve been shown, not only is the remake impressive on a technical level, but it’s also brimming with respect for the original. In this same chapter of the game in the original version of Resident Evil 4 we also started at night in the church meeting Ashley and getting used to the new escort mechanics, and it culminated with the massive shootout together with Luis Sera in the cabin. You can even take Ashley back to Mayor Mendez's house to unlock his penthouse., a small non-existent area in the original Resident Evil 4, being exclusive to the Remake. It looks like we’re getting a full-fledged remake, which respects the base game and still adds content and expands on it, despite the fact that it has been confirmed that RE4 Remake is saying “adios” to quick time events.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on March 24, 2023.
