You can visit Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy, but only if you’re a Hufflepuff

Only students of the Hufflepuff house will be able to access the only Hogwarts Legacy mission set in the dementor infested prison.

Update:
You can visit Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy, but only if you’re a Hufflepuff

The Hogwarts Legacy map is huge and includes some of the most emblematic locations in the world of Harry Potter, so Azkaban prison was almost a given. But contrary to what happens with other places such as Hogsmeade or the Forbidden Forest, access to this location is very limited and you can only go to it during a certain side quest. The mission in question is called “Prisoner of Love” and it has to do with Cedric Diggory's ancestors, whom Robert Pattinson was in charge of playing on the big screen as one of the most famous Hufflepuff members in history. The latter is important because, indeed, the quest is exclusive to Hufflepuff. If you choose to stay with Gryffindor, Slytherin or Ravenclaw when using the Sorting Hat, you also stay without visiting Azkaban.

To access the mission, just raise your character to level 5 and defend a certain woman on the outskirts of the lake. After that we will be charged with speaking with the portrait of Eldritch Diggory, former Minister for Magic, and the mission will start. Diggory's painting will introduce us to Helen Thistlewood, ex-auror and his descendant who wants to reopen a pending case because, according to him, it led to the unjust imprisonment of a young woman named Anne. To answer his doubts and lighten her conscience, Thistlewood can't think of anything better than to transport us to azkaban. Once there we will be able to visit its cold stone walls and see the dreaded dementors, although as we already anticipated when sharing the list of spells, in the game there is no trace of expecto patronum.

The mission is very brief and ends as soon as we interact with Anne, after which we can't go back to the prison. Even so, it is worth taking it into account before choosing a house. And in any case, getting to level 5 doesn't take long, so you can always start a second game as a Hufflepuff just to get to that point and enjoy the experience.
