Nintendo Direct 2.8.23: everything announced

Nintendo presented a new lineup of games and the future of its hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, in the traditional Nintendo Direct format. With rumors already debunked and big surprises, here are all the announcements made this afternoon:

Pikmin 4

The little plants created by Shigeru Miyamoto were in charge of welcoming us to the presentation with a new trailer full of new mechanics and characters, such as a kind of dog that will help us advance through the levels. Pikmin will be released on July 21, 2023.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pack Volume 3

Volume 3 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pack will be released this February 15th, featuring a new character, Masha, and a new in-game event. Along with this announcement, a brief preview of Volume 4 was given, which will arrive later this year.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central

Amigo's Samba is back. Grab your Joy-Cons as maracas and get ready to dance in this return of SEGA's rhythm game. The game will feature an online mode and a total of 40 songs with music from around the world. The title will be released in the summer of 2023.

Fashion Dreamer

A fashion title that will allow us to be a fashion influencer for those who are looking for the latest in fashion, giving likes to people. You will also be able to create your own stylish creations by combining clothes and accessories. Fashion Dreamer arrives in 2023.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania

The previously announced DLC has resurfaced with new images and information. It will be released on March 6th and the pre-sale starts today.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

A new trailer about Cereza's adventure showed a new trailer with gameplay, detailed combat and even a bit of story. The title will be released on March 17th and is already available for pre-order.

Splatoon 3

Splatoon 3 is getting an update with the Expansion Pack that will include 2 waves of content. Wave 1 will take us to Inkopolis and transport us to locations from the first title. The Squid Sisters will put on their show during the Splatfests. This DLC will be released in the spring of 2023. A preview of Wave 2, Side Order, was also shown. The Expansion Pass will be available for purchase today.

Disney Illusion Island

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy travel around an island in search of books to save it. This is a platformer title that can be played by up to 4 players simultaneously as they discover and explore this island. Illusion Island will be released on July 28th and is now available for pre-order.

Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass

New details about the next waves of the Fire Emblem Expansion Pass have been announced. Wave 2, which arrives today, will include Hector, Soren, and Camilla. Wave 3 will include Chrom, Robin, and Veronica. Finally, it was announced that Wave 4 will include the new story Fell Xenolegue.

Advance Wars 1+2 Rebooted

After almost a year on hold due to the war in Europe, Nintendo has announced the new release date for the title, which will arrive on April 21.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe

Magalor Epilogue will be a new game mode where we will help Magalor regain his powers through 20 levels. 4 players can complete this challenge together. This mode will be available after completing the story mode. A demo will also be available with a special 4-player mode. Kirby arrives on February 24th

Nintendo Switch Online

The collection of classic titles for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers grows with the addition of Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games.

Game Boy titles can be filtered to look like the Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, or Game Boy Color screen.

The service will include more titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Season/Ages for the Game Boy and Golden Sun for the Game Boy Advance. Multiplayer titles such as Tetris or Mario Kart Super Circuit will include local or online multiplayer.

The Nintendo Switch Online subscription provides access to the Game Boy Advance, while the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscription also provides access to the Game Boy Advance Collection.

Metroid Prime Remastered

The original Metroid Prime title is coming to Nintendo Switch in a remastered version. Talon IV is back. Different control modes will be available. The digital version arrives today.

Baten Katios I & II HD Remastered

A remaster of the two Baten Kaitos RPG titles is coming to Nintendo Switch. The remaster will be released in the summer of 2023.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam

A short teaser announces the return of Professor Layton in a new adventure for Switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 4 Booster Course Pass

A preview of what will be included in the fourth round of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe expansion was shown. Yoshi's Island as a new track and Birdo as a character will be part of the booster that will arrive in spring 2023.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A new trailer for Tears of the Kingdom was shown, with a strong attack on Hyrule, showing new enemies and vehicles. The Legend of Zelda will be available on May 12, 2023. A Collector's Edition will also be available, as well as a new Link amiibo.
