Keanu Reeves says amen and delivers punches in the final trailer for John Wick 4
Baba Yaga is back to finish overthrowing the High Table in what promises to be the most action-packed movie of the entire saga.
Three years after Parabellum, John Wick is back. On March 24, 2023, Keanu Reeves will once again step into the shoes of our favorite assassin to star in what has been described as "the most action-packed movie ever made." And judging by the final trailer (above), that might be true. "Before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes," reads the trailer's synopsis.
This new enemy will be Bill Skarsgard, whose face may be familiar to you, and no wonder: he played Pennywise the Clown in the recent It remakes. Skarsgard will play the Marquis de Gramont, a young man of unknown origin who has risen quickly in the hierarchy of the High Table "doing God knows what." A new sheriff who wants to secure his position in the world by killing Baba Yaga, the only one who could threaten it. And while the Wick we see on screen will be "old and tired," practically on the verge of retirement, Reeves assures us that this has been the toughest role of his life on a physical level. Far from resting on the laurels of success, the saga wanted to take martial arts to a new level and put the actor under the orders of Dave Camarillo, MMA master and expert in judo and jujitsu.
John Wick's journey does not end here
We'll see if the movie lives up to the expectations raised by trailers like this one. But however it turns out, John Wick 4 will not be the end of the franchise. Remember that a spin-off starring Ana de Armas is also in the works. We're talking about Ballerina, a movie scheduled for 2024 that will also star Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead), Anjelica Huston (The Addams Family), Ian McShane (Deadwood), Lance Reddick (Wesker in Netflix's recent Resident Evil) and Catalina Sandino Moreno (Oscar nominee for Maria, Full of Grace). An all-star cast that will breathe new life into the John Wick universe and will be commanded by Keanu Reeves, always ready for action.
