Ubisoft will be present in E3 2023, claims they have “a lot of things to show” if it happens
Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot still seems to doubt that E3 2023 will actually happen, but has stated that they’ll be at the event if it does happen.
After the cancellation of last year's edition, the ESA has announced the return of E3 for this year. However, judging by the words of Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, it doesn’t seem so certain that E3 2023 will actually happen.. In a meeting with the company’s shareholders, the head of Ubisoft stated that "if E3 happens" they will attend. “we will be there and we will have a lot of things to show”, he added.
Guillemot has not cleared his doubts about E3 2023, but according to sources of IGN, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo do not plan to have a presence at the fair.
There will be an Xbox conference in the summer, but will it be at E3?
Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, said in an interview with IGN that their conference will take place at a time suitable for the press and even for consumers. The executive did not provide a specific date, but implied that the showcase may coincide with that of E3 2023. In fact, the official blog of the platform confirmed a conference for the summer.
ReedPop, the official organizers of E3 2023, recently assured fans that they already have commitments with companies: “We have received great interest and received verbal commitments from many of the largest companies in the industry. When we are ready to announce the exhibitors we’ll be sure that the lineup will make the trip to Los Angeles worth it both for the industry and for consumers.”
PlayStation has not attended the latest editions of the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Nintendo, for its part, has been offering a special Nintendo Direct for years, while Microsoft continued to hold its conference in the traditional way.The first company to withdraw from E3 was Electronic Arts, which now hosts a side event known as EA Play. Ubisoft, on the other hand, has not stopped supporting the event at any time, with an Ubisoft Forward presentation never missing the appointment.
E3 2023 will take place (if there is one) between June 13 and 16.
