The magic is here to stay. Although there are no official sales figures yet, Hogwarts Legacy has started its journey on the market in style, on a broom and at a dizzying pace. In an interview with Variety, the president of Warner Bros. Games, David Haddad, has hinted that this game has been conceived as a long-term brand.

“We are very pleased with the initial launch and see a bright future for our other platform launches,” he said. In the same interview, Haddad celebrated the response of the players. "The player engagement is spectacular. So far, we have tracked over 152 million hours played, 173 million magical plants grown, 115 million potions brewed and 556 million Dark Wizards defeated.”

Following the interview, Warner Bros. Games updated these figures: in total there are 267 million hours played, 393 million plants grown, 242 million potions brewed, and 1.25 billion dark wizards biting the dust.

“Our goal is to continue to utilize our amazing library of Warner Bros. Discovery franchises as we develop our future slate of games,” he added.

Hogwarts Legacy DLCs and expansions?

During IGN Fan Fest, the creative director of Hogwarts Legacy answered one of the questions that everyone is wondering about: will there be expansions? Alan Tew replied that the team has focused its attention on developing the main game, so for now “There are no plans for DLCs”. Nothing has been mentioned about a possible sequel either, although the developers are polishing the versions that are yet to come.

Following its release on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC,their next target is the PS4 and Xbox One versions, scheduled for April 4. The one for Nintendo Switch will be the last to debut, so players will have to wait until July 25.
