The author of One Piece writes a chapter with an AI, and the result is a hit

Eiichiro Oda asks ChatGPT to write a chapter of the One Piece manga and the AI results are amazing and even have the approval of the author.

Update:
The author of One Piece writes a chapter with an AI, and the result is a hit

Futurism has made two appearances in One Piece. In the manga, the Straw Hat Gang is on Egghead, the island of the future, home of the scientist Vegapunk. And outside of it, Eiichiro Oda has just discovered the fascinating world of artificial intelligence. The author of the series has been tinkering with ChatGPT, the famous AI that responds to everything you say to it, reminiscent of SimSimi and other chatbots.

In his interaction, Oda asked the following: I can’t think of what to do with next week’s One Piece, so can you come up with a story for me? I’d like a very funny one." Stay tuned for the result, because ChatGPT shows a good knowledge of manga and more than one publisher would be able to buy its ideas.

“In this story, the Straw Hat Pirates will face a new enemy. The enemy is called the “King of Shadows” and he appears in the waters of the East Coast leading a band of pirates. He is a very powerful Devil Fruit user who can control his own shadow. His goal is to get Tony Tony Chopper, their crewmate.”

“The crew takes a ship to the east coast to fight him, and a fierce battle with the king begins. However, the king has powerful abilities, so the crew struggles. There Robin remembers the existence of a legendary tribe called the “People of Shadows,” whom she had met in the past, and sets out to find them.”

“The crew visits the “Island of Shadows,” the land of the People of Shadows. There, they decide to fight to regain the power that the king has stolen from the Shadow People. During the battle, the crew meets new allies and join forces with them to fight the king.”

“In the end, they defeat the king and rescue Tony Tony Chopper. But before they leave the Isle of Shadows, Robin decides to study the history of the Shadow People and remains in their royal palace. After learning more about the history of the Shadow People and making new discoveries, she rejoins the gang.”

“What do you think of this kind of story development? A storyline with a shadow-controlling villain, a mysterious race of shadow people, and new allies. Robin’s role will also be important. Readers will be interested in her knowledge and actions.”

Despite the impressive result, when ChatGPT asks Oda what he thinks of the result, the author responds bluntly: "Sorry, this is boring. Could you please come up with a more interesting idea?" And far from being discouraged, the AI gives it to him:

“My apologies. Let me suggest a more interesting storyline. In the world of ‘One Piece’, a ship is sailing on the sea. However, there is someone on board other than the captain and crew. Its an alien who look like an alien.” Would it be correct to say that here the AI is starting to look human? Isn't this just the headless, mindless proposition we once expected from all artificial intelligence? “The aliens who boarded the ship hid on the ship to escape the pursuit of an evil spaceship that had attacked their planet. The aliens enlist the help of their captain and crew to continue their voyage in pursuit of the evil spaceship.”

“Along the way, they land on an island. But the island is inhabited by a witch with evil powers. The witch is plotting to steal a “piece of star” that the aliens have. The star pieces are necessary for the restoration of the aliens’ planet. The captain, crew and aliens join forces to defeat the witch. They are victorious. But the aliens know they are running out of time to track down the spaceship. After getting the star fragment, they rush back to the ship and chased after the spaceship. The aliens then leave the ship and return to their planet.”

And after the joke, this time Oda replies, "That's exactly what I'm going to do! Sorna? or is he serious? You never know with the mangaka. Let's not forget that the author has done some crazy things in the past. Without going too far, he recently revealed the family tree and all the secrets of Zoro in a simple Q&A outside the manga.
