The Meta Quest 2 and Pro VR headsets are getting a price drop

The Meta VR line of products are getting a timely price drop this March, just in time to compete against their biggest threat yet, recently released by Sony.

Meta has just announced changes in the prices of two of its main products in the virtual reality market. The Meta Quest Pro will go from $1499 to $999 starting March 15. On the other hand, the 256GB version of the Meta Quest 2 it will drop from $499 to $429 a few days before, on March 5.

“Our goal has always been to create hardware that’s affordable for as many people as possible to take advantage of all that VR has to offer,” explains the team in the official statement. "That’s why we pioneered the first standalone headsets with inside-out tracking, letting people experience the freedom of wireless VR without the need for a separate PC or game console.”

The 128GB model of Meta Quest 2 will maintain its current price, which currently stands at $399.99. The Verge points out in its information that the successor will arrive this year at a slightly higher price than the current entry model. It will be a substantial improvement at all levels of iits design: lighter and more powerful.They also claimed that another virtual reality device is expected to be launched in 2024 at the "most attractive price point" they can manage.

This October 13 Imarks the third year anniversary since its launch. At first they were marketed as the Oculus Quest 2, but the absorption of the team by Meta (formerly Facebook) modified the line of products dedicated to virtual, augmented and mixed reality.
