Fortnite confirms the leaks were real: the upcoming season will have a cyberpunk theme
We’ll tell you everything we know about Fortnite’s new season, which has confirmed a future and cyberpunk theme. This is Fortnite MEGA.
There are only a few days left until the start of the new Fortnite season, and as usual, Epic Games has begun to release information about it little by little. We already know that the futuristic theme from Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 4 is a reality. Below we leave you with all the details:
Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 4 has a cyberpunk theme: confirmed information
During the days prior to the arrival of Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 4 we have had a flood of leaks of all kinds, among which it was stated that there would be a futuristic or cyberpunk theme as already happened with Season 9 of Chapter 1. Well, thanks to the game itself, we can confirm that at least this is true: Fortnite's new season will be future themed.
How do we know? Thanks to the “put up recruitment posters" mission of the Cipher Quests. These posters are the first teasers of the new season, displayed within the game itself.
In them we can see purple neon words in Japanese that translated into English are something like "street". Again, references made about an urban/futuristic theme.
The thing does not end here, of course. Thanks to the Twitter account @hashflagsio, we have been able to discover that the new season of Fortnite has several associated hashtags on Twitter #FortniteMEGA, #FortniteChapter2Season4, and #GoToMEGA.
In other words: the official name of the new season seems to be MEGA, referring to Mega Mall, an area of Season 9 of Fortnite Chapter 1. In other words: the leak that claimed the new season would be futuristic hit the nail right on the head.
This has also been confirmed with the revelation of the first official image of the new season: the Fortnite battle bus with the logo of the game and a cyberpunk neon color palette.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is expected to start next Thursday March 9, 2023.
