Anya, Loyd, Yor, and Bond are back! The Forgers will be back with their adventures by the end of this year, and they'll be back twice, as the second season and its movie, previously announced for late 2022, already have a release date.
During a panel at AnimeJapan 2023 (via Crunchyroll), one of the most popular families of television, or at least of anime in recent years, already has a return date for its second season. It will be in October of this year, without a specific date, that the Forgers will return to continue telling their adventures in the search for peace between two warring nations.
More Details Revealed About Spy X Family Movie
During the same panel, the name and release date of the movie based on the manga were also revealed. The movie will be called Spy x Family Code: White and will be released on December 22, 2023. There is no mention of whether this date is for a Japan-only or worldwide release, but it is assumed that it will be Japan-only. The plot of the movie, which will tell a completely original story, has yet to be revealed. Along with this announcement, a short teaser was revealed, showing the first poster of the movie, which you can see below.
The film will be directed by Takashi Katagiri, who directed an episode in the first season, while Kazuhiro Furuhashi, the director of the anime, will supervise the film while working on the second season. Ichiro Okouchi will be the new composer for the second season. Both the anime and the movie will be co-produced by WIT Studio and CloverWorks.
Spy x Family, one of the most important anime of 2022
At the end of 2022, a survey in Japan revealed which were the most popular anime of the year. Among a sample of 10,000 respondents, Spy x Family ranked 5th among other top names of the year such as Chainsaw Man, Bluelock, My Dress-Up Darling, and BOCCHI THE ROCK!
