New gameplay from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is everything we dreamed of and more
Nintendo releases a new gameplay trailer in which Aonuma shows off some of the game's new features, such as new powers and item combinations.
For a moment, it seemed that Nintendo was so confident in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that they were willing to release it without showing a single bit of gameplay. Although the release date (May 12, 2023) had been set in stone for months, the trailers we had of the game could be counted on the fingers of one hand. The news about the game was pure speculation. Whether cooperative, whether a darker tone, whether the return of the dungeons, whether a map in the sky bigger than the original, whether the mission to rebuild all of Hyrule... In the forums and on social media, people seemed to be competing to see who could tell the biggest lie. But it was over.
Nintendo has just released ten minutes of Tears of the Kingdom with commentary by Aonuma himself, and it is he who has been in charge of explaining how much we can expect from this installment, called one of the great releases of 2023 and a winning horse in the race for the GOTY. Because this sequel seems to raise to the nth power what really amazed us of the original: the physics, the interaction between some objects in the world and others, the gameplay possibilities. So make some popcorn, sit back and enjoy, it's worth it:
