How to easily duplicate items in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a glitch that we can use to duplicate items and thus have infinite items. In this page of our Tears of the Kingdom guide, we will show you how to duplicate items and how to clone items:

How to clone and duplicate items in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A new glitch discovered with the Paraglider in Tears of the Kingdom makes cloning items easier than ever. To be able to do this, of course, we must have progressed far enough in the story to obtain the paraglider by completing the main mission, The Crisis at Hyrule Castle. Once we have it, the process of performing the glitch is very simple:

  1. We rearrange the Materials inventory so that we only have one unit of the object we want to clone, and it is in the last slot. We can only clone objects of type Material.
  2. Climb to a place high enough to deploy the paraglider and fly for a few seconds before touching the ground.
  3. Jump and press X to deploy the paraglider. Then press + to open the inventory.
  4. First select and take an object that we have a unit of, and then do the same with the object in the last slot (the one we want to clone).
  5. Press + twice to exit and quickly enter the inventory menu. If we did it right, Link will drop both the object we want to clone and the other one we selected (he can’t grab objects while flying), but he’ll still have the object from the last slot in his inventory.
  6. We repeat the process of selecting and grabbing each object we have a unit of first and then the one we have in the last inventory slot and press + twice. We do this as many times as we want until we touch the ground.

The idea is to clone items like diamonds to get a lot of rupees when you sell them, or rare materials like dragon scales once you get some of them so you don’t have to go back to them every time you want more.

Take on mind several things:

  • This glitch works at the time of this guide’s publication, but Nintendo may patch it in the future.
  • We should not climb to a place with too much height, because it is possible that we will not be able to find the objects we dropped later.
  • We should not clone too many objects at once, because it is possible that the game will make some of them disappear to free up memory. The game only allows 21 objects on the ground. If we clone more than that, some of them will disappear.

In our guide to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom we talk about all sorts of useful aspects of the game. For example, we leave you with an interactive map, and we also tell you everything you need to know about the horses and stables.
