Update:

A little over a month before its official launch on June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 has already begun accumulating units in distribution warehouses. As is usually the case, leaks have not been long in coming, and apparently, the first console was stolen directly from a factory in China.

A premature look at the hardware

A video circulating on Chinese platform Bilibili shows several people handling what appears to be a Nintendo Switch 2 and even undocking the Joy-Con 2. The console is powered on, but the footage shows that it is running quality control software. This software displays basic information, such as the battery level, reboot and shutdown options, and other preliminary functions that users will encounter prior to the final firmware installation. In this factory software state, the console cannot run games and does not display the user interface that will be available to buyers on launch day.

However, the question can be asked if videos showing the console like this are longer important. Earlier this month, many details about the initial catalog of games and titles planned for the first months have already been released, and even specialized media around the world gained access to the Nintendo Switch 2 and shared their detailed first impressions.

For now, the public response has not been long in regions such as Japan, or in the United States, where the pre-orders sold out quickly after its opening.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available on June 5 for those lucky enough to get one.
