Alan Wake 2 has been delayed, gets new release date

Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s horror sequel set for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, will be arriving later than expected.

If you like horror and video games, chances are that October 17 has been marked in red on your calendar. It does not surprise us, because this was the day in which Alan Wake 2, sequel to the critically acclaimed survival horror from Remedy Entertainment, was going to land on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC. Yes, we have said “was” because the game has just been delayed and its release date has changed, but don’t worry because you won’t have to wait too long.

But don’t panic, because we are talking about only ten days: Remedy has shared a message on Twitter (or X) in which they announced that Alan Wake 2 will finally be out on October 27. The company commented that October is a month full of launches and that its decision only serves one reason: to give the players some space so they don’t get overwhelmed by having several new games at once.

A new form of terror

At MeriStation we had the opportunity to travel to Finland, the country where the studio’s headquarters are located, to test Alan Wake 2, and the truth is that our first feelings were really positive. “It is a game that captures you with its style and form. Adopting the concepts of Survival Horror suits the Remedy formula great. When compared with the original they’re like two opposite poles. Here each fight counts, the pace is reduced and the exploration takes on a relevant meaning in the structure. Add to all this the atmosphere and mystery that the studio knows how to permeate each of its recent projects.”

Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27, 2023, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
