Atlus stirred up Persona hype, but it’s probably not what fans were hoping for
Persona 5: The Phantom X gets the spotlight, but could Atlus still be teasing Persona 6?

Atlus has announced a livestream this week to unveil a new Persona game, but fans hoping for Persona 6 might be in for a surprise. Instead of the highly anticipated next mainline entry, the event will focus on Persona 5: The Phantom X, a mobile spin-off that has been in beta testing.
What is Persona 5: The Phantom X?
Developed by Perfect World Games under Atlus and Sega’s supervision, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a free-to-play mobile RPG set in a parallel universe to Persona 5. The game features a new Phantom Thief team, familiar gameplay mechanics, and gacha elements.
The livestream, announced for May 15 at 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET, will likely reveal the global release date and new details about the game’s monetization and mechanics.
Could Persona 6 still make an appearance?
While the focus is on Persona 5: The Phantom X, there’s always a small chance Atlus could tease Persona 6 during the event. However, given that Persona 6 has yet to be officially revealed, most insiders believe it’s unlikely.
Leaks suggest Persona 6 will feature a green color scheme, but beyond that, Atlus has kept details tightly under wraps.
Fans hoping for Persona 6 may have to wait a little longer, but Persona 5: The Phantom X could still offer an interesting new take on the franchise. The livestream takes place on May 15, so we’ll soon find out if Atlus has any surprises in store.
