‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ reveals first teaser at San Diego Comic-Con, teases a dark post-apocalyptic future

Nickelodeon presented at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 the first teaser trailer for ‘Avatar: Seven Havens,’ officially taking the beloved franchise into a new era. Leaving behind the 1920s-inspired industrial world of ‘The Legend of Korra,’ the upcoming series transports viewers to a gritty, post-apocalyptic future. You can watch the trailer below:

According to Nickelodeon’s official description, the world has been devastated by a mysterious cataclysm that fractured both the physical and spirit worlds. Humanity now survives in isolated settlements known as the Seven Havens. In this harsh landscape, Pavi, a young Earthbender, discovers she is the new Avatar. Rather than being welcomed as a savior, however, she is feared as a potential destroyer. The teaser also hints that Korra’s legacy may have had devastating consequences, leaving Pavi to navigate a world that resembles a post-apocalyptic wasteland more than the fantasy setting fans have come to expect from the franchise.

A new artistic direction and voice cast

Pavi is joined by her Airbender mentor, Jae, her long-lost twin sibling, and a cat-monkey companion named Geet. Paramount also revealed the series’ voice cast, with Saheli Khan starring as Pavi alongside Aishu Devan as Nisha, Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, and Dianne Doan as Zi. Veteran voice actor Dee Bradley Baker also returns to the franchise to provide the vocalizations for both Geet and Ruhi.

The teaser also offers the first look at the series’ updated visual style, created by French animation studio La Chouette, replacing the distinctive look established by Studio Mir. The new art direction draws inspiration from European comics, giving the post-apocalyptic setting a noticeably different identity while preserving the franchise’s signature visual appeal. The result is a world that feels both familiar and distinct as Pavi begins her journey to uncover the truth behind her origins.
