Baldur’s Gate 3 minis are so bad that WizKids is offering full refunds
Baldur’s Gate 3 minis are so bad that WizKids is offering refunds—fans react to the disaster.

Fans were excited for the official Baldur’s Gate 3 miniatures, but the final product has left many disappointed and frustrated. The D&D Icons of the Realms: Baldur’s Gate 3 Character Boxed Set, created by WizKids, has been widely criticized for its poor craftsmanship, with some figures looking unrecognizable compared to their promotional images.

What went wrong?
The set, which features Astarion, Karlach, Gale, Shadowheart, Wyll, Lae’zel, and Withers, was expected to deliver high-quality pre-painted miniatures. However, fans who received their orders found that the figures had melty faces, sloppy paint jobs, and warped details.
Even Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Senior Cinematic Artist, Elodie Ceselli, called out the poor quality, posting a comparison of what was advertised vs. what was received, saying:
“Only Gale has a decent face. It’s expensive for a five-year-old painting work… Shame on you @Wizards_DnD.”
Ahaha. Here's a @peterclines.bsky.social horror story -- WizKids did a pre-painted mini line for Baldur's Gate 3 and apparently got that one Jesus fresco painter to do Shadowheart.

WizKids responds with refunds
Following the backlash, WizKids issued a formal apology, admitting that the miniatures “missed the mark” and did not meet expectations. The company is now offering full refunds to customers who are unhappy with their purchase.
For those who bought the set from third-party retailers, WizKids advises contacting the store directly for a refund. Customers can also request a replacement set, with WizKids promising that future versions will meet higher quality standards.
The idea possessed me at work today, and I could do nothing until it was created. And of course I forgot my pen at home, so I did this using my laptop touchpad. Really, the official bg3 minis aren't half bad for free. | #meme #bg3 #astarion #twilight #ttrpg #wizkids |

While Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to be a massive success, its official miniatures have been a major disappointment. With WizKids now offering refunds and investigating the issue, fans can only hope that future releases will live up to expectations.
